Where you can find the best view in Bashu? The mountain light
view gets the champion.
Chongqing
evening scenes is the ferly not only in domestic but also in
overseas.
It comes
from her special geography. There are Mountains
around and two rivers surrounded the city. Riffle Jialin River
receives the scream of Fujang River and Qujiang River, and then
meets Yangtze River at Chao Tian Men Port. The city zones are
on the Xiaobashan Mountain which the two big rivers meet at
the foot of it. So the city is on the mountains and the mountains
are among the city. There are two parts of the city. One we
call up city and another one we call down city. So there are
two rivers and four river banks. On the top of the mountain,
you can not only enjoy the charming view, but also enjoy the
wonderful evening light scenes.
You can
enjoy evening scenes in different places. But the best ways
are standing on the high mountain or cruising on the two rivers
in summer night.
Chongqing
at night presents a wonderful scene. Taking a bird' s eye view
from a high place on the southern bank, you may find the peninsula
a sea of lights, while the rivers a dragon palace: if you watch
the city on the Kanshenglou Tower, you can see lights all around
you; or you may take a boat trip around the town, and find yourself
drowned in the sea of lights. The Red Star Pavilion in the Pipasha
Park, the Kansheng Pavilion in the Eling Park, and a place called
Yikeshu on the Nanshan Mountain are vintage points for observing
the nocturnal scenes of the mountain city of Chongqing. At night
the entire city is inundated in an ocean of lights, which form
a colorful three-dimensional painting, with waves of the Yangtze
and Jialing rivers glistening against the moonlit, star spangled
sky.
During summer
flood season, you could enjoy another wonderful view with cruise
on the two rivers. You could watch the lights ocean. The lights
spread along the river. The light on the h igh
buildings seen joined with starts. You can' t differentiate the
starts on the sky and lights on the ground. The lights shadow
in the water. When the cruise ships cross, the surface of the
river becomes the colorful belts. So though you are on the ships,
you may feel roaming in the wild sky or wandering in the unbounded
light ocean.
Chongqing's
nightlife is limited but quite good, with several clubs and
bars in the Jiangfangbei area. JJ's House Disco, on Bayi Lu,
is the pick of the moment, crowded, sweaty and pulsating with
a young Chinese crowd after 9pm; the Silver Rock and Rainbow
are adjacent alternatives. Imported beers are pretty expensive,
but you can get cheaper Chinese booze by the pitcherful.
Nightlife
includes the bar and disco at the some Holiday Inn, a popular
expat hangout, while the Reunion Bar just round from the Harbour
Plaza Hotel (same building as McDonalds, take the lift to the
eighth floor) has a large bar with pretty local girls waiting
to serve you possibly more than just a beer on the left, and
a loud house disco on the right. It is a weekend expat dive
hangout and gets packed with locals too. There is a 24 hour
" Coffee and Bar " two minutes walk away as you exit
the building, turn right, straight ahead, tucked in on the left,
which advertises itself as welcoming foreigners. It is pretty
cool, a guitarist and percussionist do a decent enough job of
old Eagles numbers, although we managed to drink them out of
Jack Daniels they're pretty well stocked, and the local Chongqing
beer is decent enough brew.
