2. Cruise Ship Service

A. Reception Service on the Ship
The reception service on the ship provide 24 hours information service and arrangement for you which include your counting, meal and safe. In one word, anything you care and need to solve, you could ask at the Reception.

B. Upgrade the Cabin
If you want to upgrade the class of your cabin, you could ask for the reception. If there are remained higher classes of the cabins, you could change it and pay for the price difference.
In peak season, there are few remained cabins, so you'd better ensure the class of the cabin at reservation

C. Payment on the Ship
When you board on the ship, you would get one ship card and fill in your room number and name on it. You could use this card for consume on the ship. Before you reach the destination, you pay in cash or credit card at the Reception.

D. Meal on the Ship
The three main meals are arranged on the ship. There are western buffet breakfast, and Chinese lunch and dinner. Some western dishes could be changed according to your reservation. There are a dish of appetite, six dishes of buffet, eight dishes of and a bowl of hot soup at lunch and dinner. There are sweets and fruits after the meal.
The lunch is at 12:00 AM or so and the dinner is 19:00 PM or later. The different cruise maybe has the different schedule. Normally the guests have meal at the same time. The broadcast on the ship would announce at that time.
If you avoid certain food (vegetable food, Muslem food eaters), please state it when you book the cruise. We would try to arrangement the separated meal for you. But we don't promise the cruise can meet all your need.

E. Room Service
There is 24-hours room service on the ship. You need reserve in advance.

F. The Medical Clinic on ship
There is a clinic and a qualified doctor on the ship. All medical service need be paid separately. The remedy room service could be provided anytime.

G. Drinks and Wines
Only non-liquor and beer are provided free at the meal. If you need any liquor drinks or spirit, you have to pay extra. The quantity of free drinks is limited.
The self drinks and food are not allowed at the restaurants, bars and entertainment center on the ship.
Storage with different ship varies. Many are limited due to the small stockroom

There is different storage on different ships.

H. Electric Instruments and Power
The electric instruments are forbidden to take on the ship by the cause of safety and fireproofing. If you have to use own laptop or other electric instruments, you must state it to the managers in advance or bring them to the appointed rooms.
220V power supplies in Chinese mainland. So your charge must be accorded with it. There is 110V power supply on some cruise ships.
The electric iron is forbidden on the ship.
If you need charge your electric instruments, please give them to the Reception. The waiters would do for you. If you want to charge in your room, please state clearly to the ship managers and pay attention to the specification of the power supply.

I. Shore Excursion
Before leaving the ship, you would get a leaving card. When you come back the ship, you must hand in your card and identify your back. When view the Litter Three Gorge and Shennong Stream, you would be asked to wear life jacket for your safety.
What you should much care is to remember the name of your ship, the stopping piers and the departure time. If any suddenness happens, you must come back the ship by yourself before the departure.
When you can't remember the way to come back and you can't speak Chinese, you can show you ship car or any material about your cruise ships to any local tour guilds, staff or residents. They would like to show you the way to come back.

J. The Valuables
If you have valuables that need be preserved, you could use the coffer in your cabin. If there are not enough coffers or no coffers in the room, you could keep your valuables in the coffers of the Reception and transact some procedure.

K. Credit Card
The credit cards which are received on the ship are the Wan Shida Card, Yuntong Card, Weisha Card, Dalai Card and JCB Card.

L. Change Currency
Normally, the currency which can be changed on the ship are USD, CAD,GBP,EUR,JPY, HKD, MOP, NZD,AUD,SEK,DKK,NOK,FIM.

M.Activities Arrangement on Ship
Rich and colorful activities on the ship are arranged for you except the sightseeing on shore.
There are different activities on different cruise ships. Normally, there are evening performance of dance and song, the introduction of the cruise ships, the lecture of the Yangtze Three Gorges, Chinese Ma Jiang Games, the traditional kite flying games, the lecture of Chinese calligraphy, the lecture of Chinese cuisine culture and the lecture of shadow boxing, etc. are arranged. You could take part in them by your interests.

N. Telephone and Fax
Along the Yangtze Three Gorges cruise, you could use GMS line. Somewhere you could use CDMA line. You could get in touch with your family and friends anytime and anywhere.
There is the advanced satellite communication system on all the Three Gorges. So you can take the phone in your comfortable cabin to call all over the world.
On some cruise ships overseas call or long distance call can't do in the room. You need dial in the Business Affairs Center.

O. Business Affairs Center
The telecom, telegraphy and fax service are provide at anytime. Usually, there are satellites phone, fax and ship mobiles on the ship. It's very convenient to communicate on land. Some business services are provided too, such as the hire of copy machine, computer, epidiascope, typewriter and secretary service. There are special conference rooms and simultaneous interpretation facilities on some cruise ships, such as Blue Wales, Yangtze Angel. It's very convenient to hold mini international conference. The service charge as bellow.

The different ships maybe have price difference, but not much. all above price would plus 10% service fee.

P. Laundry Service.
Housekeeper would ask you if you need laundry service, washing, dry cleaning and iron every morning. The special people would serve for you with proper price. That evening, the waiter would send your washed clothes to your room.

Q. Conference and Private Party
If you are going to hold conference on the ship, please tell us when you book the cruise. We would give feedback on time and arrange it for you.
If you and your friend are going to hold a private party on ship, you could deal with the reservation in advance that is the arrangement details of the sites, decoration, service and price, etc.

R. Drinking Water on Ship
The water quality in Yangtze River is turbid which fixes with plenty of sand. So it's very important to equip the cleansing facility for the drinking water and washing water. It connects with the health of the guests and staff. At moment, all Yangtze cruise equipped cleansing, decontamination, antisepsis and filtrate facilities. All drinking water provided for you reach the national standard.
Generally, the water on the ship can't drink directly. All boiled water on the ship provided you is filtrated and boiled. Some cruise ships provide free mineral water.

S. Luggage Service
There is no quantity limit of the luggage. Carriers are equipped in the cabin normally. Consignation service is provided in some lesser ships. The luggage of group guests is sent to the ship by receipted travel agency. The luggage could be sent on the ship in advance or be with the guests. After you identify your room, the waiter would send your luggage to your room. The cruise ships normally provide convey service for your luggage when you board the ship or get off it. You would pay 1 USD per piece at once.
There are maybe many steep stone stairs when get on or get off the ship, because of the mountain city of Chongqing. So if you want to hire someone for you to move your luggage, you probably pay RMB10Yuan/Piece.

T. How big are the cabins
The standard cabins are from 8 to 16 sq. km not including bathroom. Most cabins measure 10- 12 sq. meters. Some ships have 2 sq. meter private balconies. Splendid China has the largest cabins size: 22 sq. meters. Then East king and East Queen take the second place by 14 sq. meters. Ordinary cabins are not supposed to add a bed, but larger cabin size will make it easier to have another extra bed in the cabin.
Suites are usually doubled the size of the standard cabin, with 30-40 sq. meters. They usually have a king or queen size bed or two double beds, bathtubs, more furnishings. Interior decoration would look much better.

U. Can we take our children with us on the cruise
You can take children on a cruise. Four star and above ships provide baby and child carts and chairs, children's play room and child care.
You can share a cabin with your children because usually there is enough space to add a bed for child. But extra charges will apply. Please check "booking and Services" for more information.
The following ships can provide good child care and extra bed service: Splendid China, East King, East Queen, President I, Blue Whale, Sunshine China, Qianlong, Yangtze Pearl, Yangtze Princess, Yangzijiang, Yangtze Prince, Beidou.

V. What kinds of entertainment activities are there on the cruise ships
The management organizes programs such as visiting ashore three or four times, two or three theme evenings, around four lectures on clinics, Kungfu and fitness, Chinese painting and calligraphy performance, and competition.
Evenings are Orient-style and performers by staff. Sometimes, singer stars, local actors can be invited to the show. For example, there is a orchestra from the Philippines on the East King and East Queen. Some larger cruise lines have their own professional troupe on the ships, although size may vary. You needn't to pay for the ticket during the evening except drinks and wines. There are lectures on some hot subjects, such as China History and Tibet, Three Gorges Dam and Yangtze Ecological Environment Protection, China's Policy on Planned Parenthood and Population, Chinese Medicine and Health, etc. You can learn Chinese Kungfu, such as Taiji boxing, dance, Chinese painting on the ship.
You also have time to have your own activities, such as reading in the library, sauna, massage, chess and card game, fifteens, Ping Pong. But you'd better bring your own books as there are only a few English books on the ships.
