The smallest Three Gorges is on the Madu River. Madu River is a tributary of the Daning River. Origin of the river is from Daba Mountain. It empties into the Daning River at Dicui Gorge, one if the world famous Lesser Three Gorges.
The smallest gorges are newly found and are consists of Sancheng Gorge, Qinwang Gorge and Changtan Gorge, which extend 14 kilometers. Like in the Lesser Three Gorges, the mountains are picturesque and the gorges are even smaller with a secluded atmosphere. There are also limestone caves and cliffs covered with primitive bushes and trees which look like pig, dog, dragon, snake or fallen ice column in different length, thichness, and sizes. It's really a paradise far from the crowded city Because the low water river and riffles, the motor ship can't sail on Madu River. So when the visitors travel across the smallest Three Gorges, they take willow shape boat which sail by man. You would enjoy a peace an natural scenery and bring a appreciate feeling for the labors' hard work.Now there is anther tour program-drifting on rubber boat. When you take the wood boat to the end of the Sancheng Gorges, you can rent the very good rubber boat, wear yellow safe coat and drift by yourselves to downstream. Madu River is riffles but low water lever. So 5 kilometers drifting would make you feel exciting and safe. Sometimes you maybe become a "soup chicken" but when you finish half hours drifting you can't help saying how exciting it is!
